Naše dva debatní týmy dnes úspěšně reprezentovaly školu v regionálním kole Debatiády 2025, které se konalo na gymnáziu ve Šlapanicích. Tým ve složení Sofie Marcinčáková a Kristýna Jakubíčková z kvarty A zvítězil a postupuje do celorepublikového finále, které se koná 17.5. v Praze. Tým ve složení Tereza Rusínová, Veronika Mazálková také z kvarty A se umístil na vynikajícím 3. místě. 

Debatovalo se o politice a mimoškolních aktivitách (T1:Přístup k mimoškolním aktivitám by se měl změnit  T2:ČR by měla motivovat ženy ke vstupu do politiky).  

Děkujeme za vzornou reprezentaci školy a držíme palce ve finále!

We want to invite you to the 8th Annual English Theatre Festival, which will be held once again at the Barka Theatre from March 6 to 14.

This year's festival promises various performances, from classical plays to musicals, from murder mysteries to comedies or fairy tales. There's something for everyone.

The English Department is pleased to announce the application process for the Erasmus+ three-month mobility programme at European secondary schools during the school year 2025/26. This opportunity is open to up to three current sexta and second-year students. The programme includes one placement at Otaniemen lukio, a secondary school in Espoo (Helsinki), Finland, where English is not the main language of instruction, and two placements at local secondary schools in Ireland. If needed, a secondary school in Italy will be offered as an alternative option.

Students will be selected on the basis of the following criteria:

• English language skills
• Overall academic performance
• Motivation
• Contribution to and representation of the school
• Personal qualities, behaviour, social skills, communication, responsibility, flexibility

How to apply for the selection process and what to expect?

1. Complete the online application form: here.
2. Send a motivation letter in English as an email attachment to petra.hanusova@bigy.cz by Friday 24.1.2025 (the letter should be a minimum of 200 words). The content of the motivation letter should include:

• A short introduction of yourself.
• A brief description of any extracurricular activities which you are involved in.
• Describe your contributions to the school's reputation: participation in competitions, projects, volunteering; work for the class, activity in the student parliament, etc.
• Explain why we should choose you for the scholarship.
• How do you plan to adjust to a foreign environment and living with a host family

      3.  Oral interview: Scheduled for the first week of February; the exact date will be set by the end of January and emailed to you.
